Context

Governance, legislation, and organisational processes for bodies such as the church have grown in complexity over the years, requiring increasing attention to be given to these important matters, traditionally by members of local churches. This focus on organisational management is time consuming for local areas, and rather than serving Our Calling as church, at times, it becomes our focus.

Alongside this, the Methodist Church as a whole is navigating how inherited and cherished ways of being that, whilst worthily reflecting our missional beginnings as a Christian movement over three- hundred years ago, can be reviewed and renewed to release the church to flourish in today's landscape.

Our District Chair, Rev Leslie Newton shares:

Our hope as a District is to live out our calling now in ways that faithfully reflect the pioneering DNA of the Methodist Movement that brought experience of the transformational gospel of Jesus to local communities.

So, we are creating space for 'new ways' to be developed, and The Bridge Circuit is one of these spaces!'
