Tracey Wright
I was born in Bridlington but raised in Driffield, and returned to Bridlington with work.
My parents had different faiths, my father was a Roman Catholic, and my mother was Church of England. Neither encouraged nor discouraged faith and generally left it to us.
In those days there was very little entertainment for children and church was a good way to spend Sundays.
In my early recollections were Methodist for the Brownies and school activities. Elim for Sunday school and Roman Catholic for Christmas Eve service.
Throughout my forty year career as a nurse, my faith sustained me at times of great challenges and difficulties, the work was varied, I was fortunate to manage teams and hospitals in challenging circumstances.
I married in the Methodist church at Driffield and now have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
More recently I became involved with St Johns Burlington Church via the Christmas Tree Festival and stayed!
I became a willing participant a few years ago now – that time has flown, and I act as a Property Steward, Pastoral Care, and now Mission Area Representative.
It is a privilege to be at St Johns Burlington Church and I'm really looking forward to the next chapter in my Church ‘career’ and do so with enthusiasm and commitment.
